GlockApps supports the following testing modes:
-
Manual tests: they require a few manual actions after you start a test. You need to choose the inbox providers for your seed list, copy the unique test id code and paste it in the message body and send the message to the given seed list using your email service provider. Then you click "View Report" and wait for the email placements results. You can check out this tutorial on how to run an email spam test for more details.
-
Smart tests: these tests allow to test an email by sending it to one proxy email address. To do this, you need to create a sending account in GlockApps, generate a proxy address and send the message to the proxy address. GlockApps will do the rest for you: create a test and re-send the message to the seed list via your email account. This mode eliminates the need to create a test manually and copy-paste the id in the message. Here you can read more about email testing via one proxy email address.
-
Automatic tests: these are recurring tests trigged by GlockApps according to the interval set by you. Like smart tests, autoamtic tests work with sending accounts. Here you can read more about how to set up automatic tests.
- MailChimp tests: these tests can be used by the clients using MailChimp as their email service provider. Thanks to the integration with MailChimp, it is possible to test the email campaigns created in MailChimp directly in GlockApps without opening MailChimp in a new tab or window.
The mode you can use for testing emails depends on your email service provider and your ability to create a sending account in GlockApps. If your email service provider doesn't share their SMTP settings to be used in third party applications, you can always use manual tests in GlockApps.
